A drug and substance abuse seminar was held in Mabopane on 24 August 2018 by the South African Youth Movement (SAYM) Against Drugs and Substance Abuse in collaboration with the City of Tshwane.

This was the second annual event organised by the movement held at Mabopane skills Centre Hall.

The seminar was aimed at combating the scourge of drugs and substance abuse among youth and communities of Tshwane. Guest speakers included GP ma Orange also known as Israel Makwe, Benz and Chucks who are all recovered addicts.

The Kingdom Rehabilitation Centre was also present to share their past experiences first hand and help bring light to the youths about the dangers of drug consumption.

According to the South African Youth Movement event coordinator Ntando Sigudla the SAYM is a mobile Non Profitable Organisation that is recognised nationwide. Its vision is to be the leading provider of high quality youth development programs that are accredited based on intentional best practise.

“SAYM is a big NGO with different initiates such as “Ke bosso without drugs” (am boss without drugs), “Taking back the future’’ as well as SAYM against drugs and Substance abuse” said Mr Sigudla.

The movements also offer support to those who want to get off drugs, they help them get jobs and empower them to be great people in the future.
