Muzi Brick and Project together with PPC Cement hosted a brick making workshop in Soshanguve block KK on Thursday 28 March 2019 to provide an enabling environment for skills development and to help communities to participate in the economy.
Ms Anthea Windvogel, the strategic marketing manager for PPC said the brick making workshops that they are conducting in the country, are not only about providing product, it is also to ensure that the product is used correctly to produce quality bricks.
βIn the past two weeks that we have been conducting workshops, we have realised that communities value the input the workshops are making,β she said.
Technical Representative at PPC, Mr Martin Dube, trained members of the community and also gave them marketing tips.
Mr Muzi Shongwe, the owner of Muzi Bricks, said the workshop was empowering to him as an upcoming brick maker and also to aspiring brick makers in the community who attended the workshop.
“We now understand the product better and we will be able to produce quality bricks,β he said.
