The community of Soshanguve Block KK embarked on a peaceful march today to the Soshanguve electricity depot to submit a memorandum to voice out service delivery and electricity cuts grievances.
Mr Norman Mohale, the Spokesperson of Gauteng Social Development MEC, Ms Thuliswa Nkabinde, received the memorandum on behalf of the MEC and said he could not sign the memorandum but promised to return to the community with answers in 14 days as per the demand of the community.
“The demands in the memorundum are above me,” he said.
A community leader who read out the memorandum, Mr Sabelo Ntuli, said the community is tired of the lack of service delivery.
He said the Municipality has made endless promises in Ward 26 and that is why now they are appealing to the electricity depot and the housing department to sort out the issues, “we demand that our grievances be responded to in 14 days”.
Spokesperson of the Community, Mr Kabelo Molelekwa, said Ward 26 has been in existence for more than 20 years but there is no visible development.
“What angers us more is that our Ward is not even part of the RDP program for the 2019/2020 which clearly indicates that we are not taken serious,” he said.
