ActionSA has officially launched 14 new branches in Soshanguve in a move aimed at strengthening its presence and advancing community development in the area.

The expansion marks a significant political development in Soshanguve, with the party emphasising its commitment to increased community engagement, accountable leadership, and addressing pressing local challenges such as unemployment and crime.

According to ActionSA, the newly established branches will enable the party to maintain a consistent presence in residents’ lives, not only during election periods. The branches are intended to function as local support centres where community members can report service delivery issues, attend meetings, and engage directly with leaders.

Soshanguve was identified as a strategic location due to its large population and its importance within the City of Tshwane. The party acknowledged ongoing challenges faced by residents, including youth unemployment, irregular waste collection, deteriorating road infrastructure, and persistent water and electricity supply issues.

ActionSA stated that community empowerment will be central to its approach. The party plans to roll out programmes to encourage civic participation, develop leadership skills, and enhance digital campaigning and outreach initiatives. It also pledged support for aspiring entrepreneurs and small business owners as part of efforts to stimulate local economic growth.

On economic development, the party said it intends to create a more enabling environment for businesses, informal traders, and small enterprises by advocating for fair opportunities and improved infrastructure. It maintains that clean, safe, and well-managed communities are essential for attracting investment and fostering business growth.

The new branches will also serve as platforms to promote accountability. Regular meetings, structured reporting systems, and ward-based activities are expected to ensure that leaders remain accessible and responsive to community concerns. ActionSA emphasised that elected representatives must consistently report back to residents.

As political parties prepare for the 2026 local government elections, ActionSA believes this expansion will strengthen its organisational capacity in Tshwane. The party positions itself as an advocate for ethical leadership, good governance, and effective service delivery.

Residents who attended the launch raised concerns about infrastructure, crime, and limited employment opportunities for young people, particularly as the ruling party in Tshwane. In response, ActionSA reiterated its commitment to improving safety, enhancing service delivery, empowering communities, and supporting local businesses.

The party further indicated plans to expand into other townships within Tshwane as part of its broader growth strategy.

ActionSA described the launch as more than a political milestone, stating that it represents an effort to rebuild trust between communities and government, while encouraging residents to take an active role in addressing local challenges.
