A total of 363 residents of Soshanguve Extensions 6 and 7 received their title deeds on 4 September, MMC for Human Settlements Aaron Maluleka confirmed, alongside Ward Councillor Enos Chiloane, at a handover ceremony at the Soshanguve Ext 6 Sports Ground.
The turnout marks a sharp increase from June 2025, when only 103 of 417 available title deeds in the same area were collected meaning roughly two-thirds of eligible residents did not come forward the first time.
The September event appears to have addressed most of the remaining backlog from the original 417, though it is not yet confirmed whether all 363 recipients were on the original list or included newly qualified beneficiaries.
Mr Maluleka’s office has not yet detailed what prompted the improved turnout compared to 2025 whether through renewed community outreach, changed documentation requirements, or another factor.
