A 32-year-old man allegedly attempted to rape a young girl near Soshanguve High School in Block FF on Thursday.
The man’s actions were caught by a group of community members who stopped the crime from happening by mob justice.
According to eye witnesses, the girl was passing though a small passage used by the community, which is said to be unsafe.
“It was the right thing for this man to be beat up, the police would have released him because it was an attempted rape now we are fearful that he will try to rape another girl,” said a community member of Block FF.
It is still unclear if the man was reported to the local SAPS.
