Koketso Ramogoase is from Highlands Park, in the east side of Pretoria. He is a classical instrumentalist, and naturally lives a life of a composer through playing his compositions based on how he lived his life.
Cellist Ramogoase plays the Violoncello commonly referred to as the Cello and says he has been playing the Cello for the past 16 years. It was through his dedicated spirit that he has been dedicated to playing the string of the Cello for so many years.
“It is through dedication, self -control and aural skills that I started learning this musical instrument, “said Ramogoase.

Ramogoase says his skill was not self-taught, he went to went to school to be able to play his instrument and mostly his audience is the older generation and classical music fans.
“I choose to play the Cello because it is not popular like the violin and it produces a more pure sound.”
In deciding on his career, his parents gave him a choice between soccer, dancing and classical music and he decided to go for music, and had to learn to love it.
Ramogoase says he is inspired by learning African music and culture, and by changing the rules of the classical instrument by using natural sweet tunes, which people really love.
“I love that the Cello is a rear instrument in South Africa and it teaches self-control.”
Ramogoase, who is also busy with musical plays, says he is in the process of registering an NGO for music and establishing music schools around Gauteng townships to teach children music for free.
