The Soshanguve taxi owners opened up a four-pump facility for diesel and petrol facility in Block F, bearing the name Soshanguve Taxi Owners Association (SOTOA).

The facility does not serve the general public and is only managed by the taxi association.

The station was built with money collected by the taxi owners in Soshanguve, and they are planning to expand their business by building fuel stations in other parts of the country.

The main aim is to save enough money to build the Hamba Taxi Vehicle Manufacturing Company. All taxi owners will start to support their own local brand and stop buying other big brands.

One of the members of the SOTOA, said all taxis must use the fuel station and the petrol squad must ask for receipts every day to check if it has been used, for every 10 cars brought in customers get 30 cents back per litre which is transferred to their bank account at the end of the year.

“The station is not yet fully operating on a daily basis because we are still looking for the best strategies, SOTOA also has a smaller station which only has big tanks with no structure in Soshanguve at Jukulyn.

“My other association has also started practicing that at EP garage in Marabastad, no taxi will load at Bloed mall if it doe not have the receipt from the garage,” added the SOTOA member.
