The reigning Miss Teen World 2018, Cayla van Eeden (15 years old, Grade 9 learner from Kempton Park) attended the prize giving at DC Marivate Junior Secondary School in Soshanguve on 3 November 2018.
Miss Teen World, Cayla, addressed the learners with a motivational speech on the importance of education as well as how she balances her school work, charity work and being Miss Teen World.
Mom, Elize van Eeden, also addressed the parents to encourage parental involvement and support to their children.
Proud parents at the school acknowledging their children, teachers and parents dancing and singing with the kids – even Mr Mangezi (Principal) joined in.
Miss Teen World sponsored a Deskbag to each of the Top 16 performers.
This was Cayla’s second visit to the school in the last month. At her previous visit, she addressed the learners on some key topics including teenage pregnancies, drug abuse and assertiveness.
“The learners, teachers and staff at DC Marivate have been remarkable and this school is very close to my heart,” Cayla said.
