Transport Month celebrated in Soshanguve

Giant Stadium in Soshanguve today hosted a transport month event organised by the Department of Transport in celebrating October Transport Month.

During this month the Department of Transport and its entities showcase transport infrastructure services in aviation, maritime public transport, roads, and to advance road safety.

Exercising and walking can contribute to saving the environment

To celebrate Transport Month, cyclists from Pretoria cycling clubs took part in the activities to create awareness on non-motorised transport and to promote the use of alternative transportation.

Ward 20 councillor, Mr Harold Matjeni, said people should learn to use alternative modes of transport when they are travelling short distances for the sake of the environment and every day should be transport day not only once a year for a month”.


Aerobics trainer, Ms Lerato Bonabeng, said exercising can be done in different ways like taking a 20-minute walk which can mean a lot to save the environment.
