Residents of Soshanguve block H and L has blamed the City of Tshwane for the continuing problem of illegal waste dumping and said this is because the City collects the waste too late.
Mpho Lebese of Block H said because of the late collection of waste, residents have no choice but to resort to other disposal measures which leads to illegal dumping.
“City of Tshwane is really not doing its parts to prevent illegal dumping, they should rather invest in big refuse bins that can be accessible to residents instead of investing in no-dumping signs.
One of the street vendors, Ms Maletsatsi Ramolao, of Block L, said even though the city has taken efforts to clean up the streets, those responsible for picking up waste do not do their job. “They seat around for the whole day and go away without picking up the waste.
