Residents in Soshanguve block M said the lights that are not been repaired in their area contribute to the escalation of crime.

The EFF Councilor in the area, Mr Tshilidzi Tuwani, said it has been a long time waiting for help.

“It has been four months now that the matter has been reported to the City of Tshwane and an official, Mr Solly Sogopolo who came to view the lights, promised to attend to the matter but that has not happened,” said Mr Tuwani.

He said people’s dogs are being poisoned by criminals so that they can break into people’s houses.

A resident, Mr Frans Petja, said the place is dangerous, “We are not safe, and criminals attack us to steal our belongings so we will be delighted if we can get help as soon as possible.

Soshanguve Pulse Contacted Mr Solly Sogopolo, who was dealing with the issue of damaged street lights, he said he is not working.

The Councillor, Mr Tuwane said he has no option. “I am going to report to the community and preferably advise and accompany them to Municipality offices to seek answers.”
