After the announcement of the COVID-19 Lockdown, Mr Mbulelo Mthimunye (23) and Neo Mbembele (22) started the business of Nibble foods to deliver groceries to serve the local community and also ventured into serving small businesses.

Nibble Food also donates food to orphanages during the national lockdown. “We believe in building communities that look after their own people. Since the lockdown started, we realized that the economy would be getting tough for people and businesses and we felt it was important to help where we can,” said Ms Mthimunye.

Ms Mbembele said they have not been able to assist as many people as they would want to.

“Due to the excessive cases in our communities, it has been difficult to help. However, because of the declining cases, from September we will be able to help the needy, those who lost jobs and school children who are disadvantaged by the discontinuation of feeding schemes. This is because we have been able to mobilize some resources which will enable us to provide the much-needed help,” she said.

Ms Mbembele and Ms Mthimunye encouraged people who are willing to help to be genuine in everything they do and assist with a happy heart.

They said the pandemic has exposed the value of community, “we need to help each other and your impact on people’s lives will bring hope to others.”
