The acting MEC for Health, Mr Jacob Mamabolo, has warned residents of Tshwane about the number of Covid-19 infections in Tshwane, which stood at 45412 at the time, with 37801 recoveries.
Tshwane is the third-highest number of infections in Gauteng after Johannesburg and Ekurhuleni.
The people of Tshwane commented on the concerns of Mr Mamabolo.
Risuna Shirindza from Soshanguve said the reason they are not obeying the regulations is because of the new season. “We are now in a new season and it is hot, It is not like last time, we are a bit less safe,” said Ms Shirindza.

Hisekelani Makhubele from Atteridgeville said the reason people are not following the government regulations is that they think our leaders are not telling the truth about Covid-19.
“They announce numbers of who is infected, but we never see them, the numbers increase every day, but we never see these people,” said Ms Makhubele.

Bunhle Mbhombhi from Mabopane said people do not do the social distancing anymore and are not wearing masks because they believe the virus does not exist. “They think it was the government’s plan of killing our loved ones, especially old people,” She said.
