Nhlamolo Shawn Selepe (17), also known as empress.ar “Modimo Wa Radio,” from Mabopane Bokenhout was given an opportunity to showcase her talent at Mabopane Rise Radio on 16 June 2020.
Ms Selepe is currently in matric at Amandasig Secondary School and appears to have a promising voice for radio.
She said it all started when the lockdown and she came up with an idea of “Radio WhatsApp” where she would post voice clips.
“I was invited for an interview at Mabopane Rise Radio, where my talent was spotted and I was given an opportunity to conduct my show,” she said.
Empress.ar said she is motivated daily by the support she gets from family, friends, and the book of Jeremiah 29 v 11.
“I see myself having a huge listenership, not having to introduce myself and to be addressed as Dr. Selepe,” she said.
