DA announces Randall Williams as its candidate for Tshwane mayor

The City of Tshwane announced on 7 July 2021 that progress has been made in the development process of a digital and online Development Application Management System (DAMS).

Executive Mayor, Mr Randall Williams, said the project is aimed at automating several Economic Development and Spatial Planning submission processes on the e-Tshwane platform with a focus on land development applications, building plans, and site development plans.

“The system has gone live since April 2021 but remains on a pilot phase, with a controlled number of users given access to the solution,” he said.

Mr. Williams said, “The testing is progressing well with the following application submissions being tested on the platform: Rezoning applications, Permission of additional dwelling-house, Demolishing application form, Application to approve building plans, Site development plan application form, and Township establishments,” he said.

“The successful implementation of the system will result in customers being able to submit and monitor progress on their applications electronically. Currently, an applicant must visit the walk-in centers at least three times to finalize an application, with various activities performed at different counters and sometimes in different buildings,” he said.

Mr. Williams said automation of the submission of land development applications provides a new channel for customers to engage with the City. We look forward to fully implementing this project soon.
