In anticipation of this week’s 54-hour water disruption, Rand Water is advising residents not to fill their bottles. Water pressure is expected to be affected in eight municipalities, in Gauteng and Tshwane will not be part of it.
Rand Water said the water shutdown will not result in a total lack of water supply as water will be flowing into the system at reduced pressure and quantities.
The Executive Manager at Rand Water’s Zuikerbosch purification plant, Mr Eddie Singo, said stocking up on water would have massive implications.
“It will then empty the entire system and when we are done with our 54-hour work, then we are going to have the struggle to refill the reservoirs again,” he said.
