The City of Tshwane will tomorrow, Wednesday 06 June 2018, carry-out the tie-in connection of the new 1200 mm steel pipe to Mabopane reservoir. This essential work was initially scheduled for last week, however, isolating valves at the reservoir mal-functioned and the work had to be rescheduled.

The work to be carried-out tomorrow will conclude the replacement of old and worn-out bulk water pipeline project on a pipeline that supplies water to Mabopane, Morula View and Winterveldt. The connection compels the City to immediately shut-down the water supply to the serviced areas in order to complete the replacement embarked upon.

The interruption period will begin on Wednesday, 06 June 2018 at 04:00 until around midnight on Thursday, 07 June 2018.

It is unfortunate that this essential work will impact on the water supply to the residents, however, upon completion, it is expected to lessen unplanned maintenance, limit possible pipe burst, improve water supply in the area, reduce constant major repairs that results in water interruption and reduce areas that will be affected with no water when there is major pipe burst.

The areas that will be affected are Mabopane, Morula View and Winterveld.

During the shutdown, roaming water tankers will supply residents with water.
