Car dealership, DSM Motors, handed TUT FM their first-ever vehicle since its establishment, in an event hosted on Monday afternoon at the Tshwane University of Technology (TUT), Soshanguve, South campus. Both parties had gathered to officially celebrate their new partnership.

TUT FM’s station manager, Kedibone Mahapa, expressed her gratitude towards DSM Motors for not hesitating to donate a car to TUT FM.

She said as a community radio station, we saw the need source sponsorship to ensure that the station keeps on operating because we survive with things like sponsors and advertisement.

“The community radio has the mandate to make sure that we provide local content, our journalists are going to utilize the vehicle to cover stories,’’ she said.

The DSM motors representative, Katlego Matjeding, said they are proud to have partnered with TUT FM.

“We are hoping that the collaboration will be mutually beneficial and that the car will help with community outreach,” he said.

TUT FM representative, George Maremo, said the car will make broadcasting less complicated and promised to make sure that the car is kept safe.

“DSM motors came at the right time, we have struggled to get a car sponsorship for a while, we need to make sure that the station benefits from this partnership, more especially journalism interns, we will ensure that the car is not used for any other thing than the benefit of the station,’’ Mr Maremo said.
