Sabelo Khanyile originally from Nkandla in KZN is currently studying at Tshwane University of technology and has issues with his funding as he is doing a B-tech in Animal Science.

“I have been studying at the institution for my diploma and now I cannot continue because of funding. NSFAs has stopped funding as I have graduated although I have managed to register, I still do not know how I will be able to continue paying the institution since I am not working,” said Khanyile.

“I was a student at Tshwane Tvet College last year but I did not complete my studies because of funding and mismanagement from the institution,” said Mhlanga

“Firstly, results were not issued for the first trimester yet we were given an ultimatum to deregister or continue to the next level without getting the results and that led to many complications. So until today, I owe the institution,” added Mhlanga.

Zamokuhle Ndawonde a student at the Tshwane University of Technology has funding problems.

“I have enrolled in the university since 2018 which is when I did my first year. I was funded by Nsfas but things changed last month when I checked my status and it had changed to unsuccessful, I am still confused as to whether I am funded or not with the hope that the status will change again” said Ndawonde.

This is just a few of the problems faced by students, there are also problems of accommodation and high charges by property owners.
