Covid-19 screening facility unveiled in Soshanguve block TT

The Gauteng Health Department in partnership with the South Africa BMW donated ambulances and unveiled a temporary Covid-19 screening and testing facility at the Soshanguve Block TT Clinic.

The station is for Covid-19 testing established through a memorandum of understanding between the Department and BMW.

Gauteng province received a fully equipped ambulance for Dr George Mukhari Academic Hospital and three first responder vehicles to help Soshanguve, Ga-Rankuwa and Mabopane communities.

Acting MEC for Health, Mr Jacob Mamabolo, officially opened the testing station and handed over an ambulance at the Soshanguve block TT clinic.

Mr Mamabolo said partnerships between the private sector and the public sector is important to strengthen the South African democracy.

“This kind of partnership contributes to turning our national development goals as articulated in the National Development Plans (NDP) 2030. They will also strengthen our health sector as we progressively move towards the implementation of National Health Insurance.

“We appreciate the work that has been done by various stakeholders in the health sector during the pandemic,” he said.
