A self-taught artist, Mr Daniel Bhubezi Khumalo (34), born and raised in Zimbabwe, relocated to Winterveld to hunt for a job in 2006 and ended up getting a job as a security guard.

He quit that job after deciding that he wanted to be his own boss. Today, he feels that he is ready to help others because of his success.

One of the people who inspired him is his friend Tono, who always encouraged him to use painting art because he was using a pencil only.

“He encouraged me never to look back and to use my talent o get to where I want to be, and that is why today I am getting new clients every day,” he said.

Mr Khumalo said he is happy that a lot of people have supported him by buying his art and this is why he feels he wants to help other artists to believe in themselves.

“Art is a difficult career and if I can help someone succeed, I am happy to,” he said.

“Most of my close friends in Grade 3 laugh at me when I started, but I never looked back,” said Mr Khumalo.

He said as much as he is keen to help others, he would also welcome those who want to support him.
