The importance of attending medical clinics was shared with Soshanguve women by UMSANO Community Organisation.
Mr Thabiso Masuku, an organization volunteer, said they are raising awareness of the importance of attending medical clinics, particularly among young women in the community, especially those who are affected by diseases that they are unaware of.
UMSAMO is an organization that works under the Department of Health: (Multi-Sectoral Aids Management Unit), and Tshwane Municipality.
“We also provide government condoms to protect women and educate them on all sexual diseases”.
“UMSAMO’s worker, Miss Nancy Segoale, said the organization works very hard in helping young sisters, especially the younger ones who are afraid of attending clinics for check-ups.
“We are teaching them about the dangers of being unprotected, as well as the diseases that they may contract, as well as the symptoms of each disease. We assist those who are already affected and provide them with Department of Health medications,” she said.
“Miss Kgaugelo Mosea, a community member, said the organization helps young women because they provide them with privacy.
“Parents in Soshanguve are grateful for what UMSAMO is doing for their children,’ she said.
